AN ORIGIN ROOTED IN FAITH, FAMILY, AND THE LAND
Midwest Bio Systems was built through faith, hardship, and a deep belief that farmers deserve better.
At thirteen years old, our founder, Edwin Blosser, experienced a moment that would shape the rest of his life.
A devastating accident took the life of Edwin’s dear friend. Despite the fact that the tractor they were riding in was completely destroyed, Edwin was miraculously spared. From that point on, he believed he had been spared for a purpose.
In the 1980s, that purpose began to take shape.
As interest rates climbed, Edwin and his family fought to keep their farm alive, working around the clock in a desperate fight to preserve their livelihood and their legacy.
That struggle planted a question:
How can farmers not just survive—but thrive?
THEN HE MADE A DISCOVERY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Edwin began to study everything he could about soil biology, renewable and sustainable farming, and the benefits of composting He trained for nearly a decade to become a certified soil practitioner, learning to read soil, root systems, crop behavior, and water flow in both soils and plants.
In 1992, he traveled to Austria to meet a former physician who had discovered the power of enzymes—invisible agents that regulate digestion, immunity, cellular repair, and more.
He learned that enzymes coming from the Humus Proteins in this particular compost weren’t just plant nutrition; they were the bridge between earth and human vitality.
He returned home and Midwest Bio Systems was born.
We began designing and manufacturing the Aeromaster Composting Equipment—machines that could help farmers:
- Create high-quality, biologically active compost more efficiently and affordably
- Restore land and increase yields
- Improve livestock health, and even impact the nutritional value of food.
- Turn their waste into a profit-generating, cost reducing asset
Today, our systems are used in 31 countries.
We exist to help farmers succeed because we know what it feels like to almost lose everything.
This isn’t just a company.
It’s a commitment:
To the land.
To the farmer.
To the future.
THE MIDWEST BIO SYSTEMS PHILOSOPHY
We believe farming is more than a business.
It’s a calling.
It’s early mornings and long days.
It’s risk most people will never understand.
It’s carrying the weight of a legacy while trying to build one of your own.
And we believe that weight has gotten heavier.
For too long, farmers have been asked to do more…
With less.
More inputs.
More chemicals.
More pressure.
While the land gives back less.
The margins get tighter.
And the future feels harder to hold onto.
We’ve felt what it’s like to stand on the edge and wonder if everything you’ve worked for is about to disappear.
That’s why we do what we do.
Not to sell machines, but to help farmers take back control.
We believe the answer isn’t more complexity. It’s returning to what works.
- Healthy soil.
- Living biology.
- Systems that support the land instead of stripping it.
Because when your soil comes back to life…
Everything changes.
Your crops get stronger.
Your animals get healthier.
Your dependence on outside inputs goes down.
And your operation becomes something you can actually sustain.
Not just for this season. But for the next generation.
This is the difference between surviving…
And building something that lasts.
We believe in solutions that work, not just promises that sell.
And we believe that no matter how difficult things get…
There is always a way forward.
You just need the right system…
The right support…
And the willingness to keep going.
We’re here for the farmers who refuse to quit.
